Ty Bates is an experienced Illinois insurance agent and Principal of Bates Insurance Group, LLC, serving individuals, families, and businesses throughout Vandalia and surrounding communities. With 11 years in the insurance industry, Ty provides trusted guidance in home insurance, auto insurance, commercial insurance, life insurance, and health insurance.
As a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and licensed Property, Casualty, Life, and Health insurance professional, Ty brings advanced knowledge and a consultative approach to every client relationship. He specializes in helping clients understand their risks, eliminate coverage gaps, and design insurance programs that protect both their assets and their future.
At Bates Insurance Group, LLC, Ty leads an independent insurance agency committed to personalized service, transparency, and long-term relationships. By working with multiple insurance carriers, the agency is able to offer competitive options and customized solutions for personal and commercial clients across Illinois.
Earlier in his career, Ty owned and operated an insurance agency in Vandalia, earning recognition four times as a Top 150 agent within the company. He later continued his professional growth with a local independent agency, where he built a strong property and casualty book of business and strengthened his expertise in commercial and personal insurance planning. This diverse background allows Ty to serve clients with both ownership insight and producer-level experience.
Ty is deeply involved in the Vandalia and Fayette County community through Rotary, the Greater Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, the Kaskaskia College Foundation Board of Directors, and Calumet Street Christian Church. He believes strong communities and strong businesses are built through service, trust, and leadership.
Ty resides in Patoka, Illinois with his wife of 21 years, Carrie, their daughters Kennedy and Kaytlyn, their dogs Duke and Daisy, and their Siamese cat, Sky. Outside of work, he enjoys following the Duke Blue Devils, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Blues.
